- Syndicomm has announced that all 166 issues of the 8-bit version of
Softdisk are now for sale on their website.  A downloadable index is
available from the Syndicomm website to help the buyer decide which issue
they're interested in.  Ordering information as well as a link to the

- Marinetti users should check out Kelvin Sherlock's new program, Marlene,
a color VT100 telnet utility for the Apple IIGS.  Users should note that
besides Marinetti, this programs requires a GNO/ME or ORCA compatible
shell.  Kelvin has also released a utility to help the user more easily
connect and disconnect Marinetti to their system.  More information can be

- Spectrum's author, Ewen Wannop, has moved to a new website address.  
Information about the Spectrum program and other products such as Spectrum

--Rich Dreher has announced that he has less than 10 CompactFlash for
Apple II interface cards left.  Once gone, he may sell some that are
cosmetically imperfect, but usable otherwise.  Ordering information can be

- Mr. Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computer and the inventor of
the first commercially-successful personal computer, will receive an
honorary doctorate of sciences degree from North Carolina State
University.  The degree will be conferred by Chancellor Marye Anne Fox on
May 15, at the Spring Commencement ceremonies.


-Emulation News

Several announcements were made concerning Apple II emulation products:

-- People wishing to try their hand at programming through the monitor
system might be interested in the Oric implementation of the Apple ]['s
system Monitor.  It can be found at

-- Disk2FDI is a shareware utility running under DOS to create Formatted
Disk Image (FDI) files from actual floppy disks. Please note that it will
NOT work under Windows NT, 2000, and XP.  The program can be downloaded

--The KEGS-OSX version of the KEGS Apple IIgs emulator has been updated to
version 1.9.  This version is said to be more stable under OS X.  It can

-- Sweet16, the BeOS Apple IIGS emulator may soon run under Mac OS X,
according to F.E. Systems Emulation Technologies, and should take
advantage of some Mac OS X-specific features.  Work is underway to upgrade
Bernie to the Rescue for OS X also.  More information can be found at:
